Discover how to get around Favignana by land and sea
Move and get around Favignana from bikes to boat
Favignana is very suitable for cycling. Therefore bikes, both normal and
electric, are the main means of transport on the island. It is also possible to get around
by other vehicles, from scooter to car. You can also opt for the tourist train or
traditional private mini bus. For boat lovers there is a wide range of rubber dinghies or
motor boats.
Getting around Favignana is simple and cheap. For those who choose
a ferry to reach the island, it is possible to travel by own vehicles, from bikes to
cars. Beware though, from August to mid-September there are some limitations of access for vehicles. Instead if you reach the island by hydrofoil, once you arrive you can choose among several types of transport means to move and get around independently on the island.
Favignana is very suitable for cycling. It is a small island, it has a
perimeter of 33 km and offers everything cycle tourists need. It is a pearl
not only for its sea, its traditions and its food but also for those who
look for an active holiday in contact with nature.
With 20 km of cycle path, Favignana has the record to be the most loved
island by cycle tourists from all over the world.
Our staff will recommend and book your rental bike (also e-bike with
pedal-assisted). You will find your bike directly in our residence when you
arrive.
In addition to bikes, many visitors choose to move by scooter or car.
Scooter is very requested. It is the ideal solution for those who like
comfort and for those who want to get around quickly. The available scooters
(125cc) are provided with helmet and assistance on the island. You can also
rent a car, from typical cars (also in modern versions) to Fiat Panda. Our
rental agency can also provide Jeeps.
Our staff will recommend and book your rental scooter or car. For those who
rent a scooter directly at the port, we can provide assistance for transfer
of your luggage.
As an alternative to rental, you can get around by the tourist train or a
classic taxi (transfer with driver, in minibus). The tourist train is
provided by Egadilandia. There are two different itineraries (with
personalised tours on request).
If you want to reach the village or a restaurant at night time, we recommend
transfer service. We will provide our guests all the useful information.
Getting around in Favignana is very easy, especially for those who have a
boat licence and/or have experience with boats. It is important to know
regulations and limitations of Marine Protected Area, as regards mooring and
sailing near the coast. You can choose between:
Solution suitable for those seeking contact with nature and want to spend a green holiday
Scooter and car rental
Solution suitable for those who prefer to move quickly along the streets of Favignana
